First Anniversary - Thank you from Yoga Effect!

We appreciate the support during 2018, our first year of providing yoga to people who wouldn’t otherwise have access. We have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to work with people who are working hard to improve the quality of life in their communities under difficult circumstances, to connect our communities and do something good.


We extend our gratitude to:

  • Our family, friends, and our yogi community,

  • Tricia Suriel Thorndike, founder of The Mariposa DR Foundation for letting us be a part of their effort to educate and empower girls,

  • Lorena Medina Bournigal, the enthusiastic, dedicated yoga teacher, for sharing and spreading her immense love of yoga,

  • Amanda Bucci, project director at Mariposa DR who found Lorena,

    And, mostly the Mariposas who have embraced the practice of yoga. We are grateful for the smiles we see and the progress that is being made
