Yoga Effect in Port-au-Prince Haiti

Yoga Effect is honored to have the opportunity to facilitate yoga classes in Port-au-Prince Haiti

In Cabarete, Dominican Republic, where we fund classes at the Mariposa DR Center for Girls, yoga is practiced almost exclusively by ex-pats. The same is generally true in Haiti. There are socioeconomic barriers that deter most people in the community from accessing and practicing yoga. We appreciate the importance of yoga for overall wellness and the need of the people in Haiti for the benefits of yoga and the wellness that it brings.

Her work has focused on health, sanitation, school gardens and much much more. She recognizes that a yoga practice can help individuals experiencing poverty and social inequity cope with trauma and life stressors. Rosedanie is connecting Yoga Effect with a yoga instructor in Port Au Prince to begin the process of introducing yoga in her community.
